Hotel itself is great: centrally located, 5 minutes walking to many attractions; hotel looks like a fortress, clean and well maintained. I had a below average experience when dealing with front desk staff. Example 1: during check in, after showing front desk my booking number and passport, female staff asking me if I stayed till Sunday, I told her no, reservation is till Monday. I was surprised she got date wrong. When she showed me all the fees I had to make sure and asked her to explain them. She repeated and at the end, she added “ I told you this”. I was thinking: you couldn’t get my date right, of course I need make sure you got fees right. And if you are so impatient you should find another job. Example 2: one if elevator was having a strange issue: you step in, swap your card, press ground floor, door stays open for very long time, probably more than 4 or 5 minutes, doesn’t matter what you do. I observed this twice so I reported to front desk, the guy was clearly not believing me from his face. First question was : how did you get down? Do you think I have all the time to tell you a hoax? I’d rather spend time visiting places if it’s not something I experienced twice!

We arrived and were immediately impressed by the building and how beautifully it had been converted into a modern hotel. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and we had been upgraded to a waterfront room on arrival. We loved the room, though on waking on our first morning we were surprised by the construction noise starting so early in the morning. There was loud pile-driving at around 7.30am. However, we called reception and Oliver was so helpful and quickly arranged a transfer to another upgraded room, still on the waterfront but none of the same noise and a larger room. he was so friendly and managed the situation with so much professionalism. He also offered a complimentary breakfast for the next morning, which was delicious and very well presented. The rooms were very clean and so stylishly decorated and furnished; bathroom fittings were very smart. The hotel itself is in a perfect location, right on Nyhavn. We would definitely return to this hotel when we come back to Copenhagen and are keen to see the results of the renovation also. Apart from the initial noise, which was resolved for us, we cannot fault the hotel. As a result, our whole stay in Copenhagen was enhanced and we just loved the city.

Great location and really nice room. It’s a really nice conversion and room was a great size and very clean. Cool bathroom and loved the Bluetooth speaker built-in the ceiling. I didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. The iron wasn’t a steam iron. Minor point but I can’t recall the last time a hotel had such a basic iron. Felt like a really odd saving for the hotel to have made. I checked in at 10am. My room wasn’t ready but fortunately an upgrade was available so I could check in and get some work done. I was glad to do some work but it felt like an opportunity to make more cash than to help me out. Great stay

I am a regular at this hotel mainly because it is conviently located, has a nice (though a bit dated) ambiance and, most importantly, better (and harder) mattresses than in any other hotel in Copenhagen I stayed in. The reason I am giving a bad rating is the service attitude. As a business traveller I need to have my company name and address on the invoice, a seamingly straightforward activity which staff at reception almost al the time gets wrong so check in/out is always an annoying and cumbersome procedure and unnecessary ground hog day experience. Hotel management has been involved and promised some improvements which never worked and now they just stay quiet. I have never experienced such ignorant behaviour towards a regular customer anywhere else in the world.

Easily walkable to many places. Lovely staff. Tasty breakfast. Nice bathroom furnishings and great to have the Bluetooth speakers to be able to have a bathroom disco. Great restaurants and bars right next to the hotel. Easy check in and out.
